''Life is a fickle thing.''

No. Life is not a fickle thing, people are.

We know when the seasons change, we know there will always be a morning sun and always a dark night, we know there is a beginning and end. We know we will all perish eventually and thank god we don't know when. Life is in a way predictable and steady in the way that you know and expect it to be unpredictable and changing. Because of this constant change and variations and things life throw at you, one expects it and we must learn to embrace it. That's life, everyone knows it decides to do as it pleases, how it pleases, whenever & wherever it pleases. Sometimes those random bits are breathtaking and beautiful and oh so lovely and other times it's not what you want at all and makes a mess out of things. It's those messes that with God you can turn into a beautiful message. 

People on the other hand, people are fickle. They are so fragile and delicate but have such potential to push the boundaries or stereotypes and be strong, inspiring, and stable. Most of the time they don't believe in their capabilities or themselves. They grow up and loss hope, say goodbye to what society says are unrealistic dreams, loose their passion and settle for mediocrity. People are like ants: they have the the ability to go above and beyond what they appear to be capable of, but without God they easily get stepped on or just get stuck in the same routine. Going off on a completely different tangent, now back to people's fickleness. People are constantly changing, and that's not a terrible thing- change at times is wonderful and empowering. It's their unsteadiness and easily persuaded or mutable qualities and mind that make them interesting beings. One day a person could speak to you with such kindness and when you do or say something they don't like they'll be brash, rude, angered or just stop speaking with you completely. They say they do not judge people, and then the next thing you know they mock the way a person dresses, or shun the behaviors of another. One day someone will say they'll never cut their  hair ever and the next week decide to just chop it all off. They say one thing and do another or they do what they say wouldn't. They have the ability to deceive and lie, no other species does that. They are easily changed by their surroundings. They let what life throws at them blind them from the bigger, beautiful picture. Life  may be a mess but it's a beautiful mess and we only get one shot at it. I could have decided to leave it several years ago, but then look at all the lovely moments I would have missed and the wonderful people who have touched my heart. Life is not a fickle thing, people are and sometimes they just piss me off with all their stubbornness.
