Earth&Moon: part1

"Tides are created because the Earth and the moon are attracted to each other, just like magnets are attracted to each other. The moon tries to pull at anything on the Earth to bring it closer. But, the Earth is able to hold onto everything except the water. Since the water is always moving, the Earth cannot hold onto it, & the moon is able to pull at it."

I just keep reading that over and over again, it's so beautiful. I always thought the moon was just reaching out for it's lover the ocean, but turns out she wants the whole earth and she is only teased with  the coming and going of the ocean.  She can bring the great seas out but still can't touch it, nor her love.  For centuries it's been trying to bring the earth closer to it's albescent mystic embrace but all she can do is leave her glowing reflection upon the waters as she calls out to her love. How sad must it be to be the cold moon. To only ask to be a bit closer to the one you love. She circles the Earth for years, provides pale light on seemingly dark nights, and silently watches as Earth bustles with life and love as she sits in the sky lonely, covered in craters, and empty. Accompanied by deceased stars even further away.
