In addition to the combination of soil and water, rain creates another favourite of mine- puddles. puddles are swell if you have gumboots (which thankfully i purchased this year). i bought them just in time for the rainy season and they sure have come in handy. i no longer avoid puddles, i fully embrace them. actually i make a great effort to step into every puddle in my path in order to make a splash. it makes me feel like a child even more. i have yet to find a large puddle to tread through.
side note: does anyone else have the song from bambi play in your head when rain gently falls?
okay well after finishing this song, i forgot the thunder and lightening bit. i don't know why but the version i had in my head was happier and i just pictured the quail .
