eye opener.

oh me oh my, why must it take something to rip my eyelids open for me to see i have to get the move on?
so i went to emily carr on saturday but i did not show my portfolio for various reasons, or excuses...

    1. got there a tad late
    2. therefore the line ups were massive
    3. it wasn't in one room as i imagined, but in various rooms where you went in alone to show your work
    4. i didn't even have a portfolio to showcase, just a fashion portfolio and quick sketches/paintings
    5. i wasn't happy with what i had to show, so why would i present it to people who i want to impress if i was not pleased with my own work?
    6. it was a girls outing (with my aunts and sis) so i didn't want to stand in a line for hours (when i might not even get a chance for my work to be viewed since the lines were coiling themselves around the halls like a snake)
    7. our parking spot(which took about an hour to find) was only for an hour, took 15 minutes to walk there, another 10 to find the school i wanted to go see, and the line up...a good couple of hours...

BUT, it showed me what i have to work towards, without making a bad first impression. i need lots of paint, canvases, good brushes, and a portfolio to carry my work in, rather than an IGA bag- which i made stand for "is good artist". witty i know.  i have to get the move on. OH and i now have two schools i am interested in attending. Emily Carr, and Parsons Paris school of Art & Design. studying art in france? craaaaaaaazyness. not to mention i would be fluent in a third language. come on gabs get off your stupid lazy ass and do something. this is my life, i better not let it go to waste.

ps. one republic's- waking up is the perfect cd for me to pull inspiration from.
not to mention the title of the album is speaking to me. cause i'm finally waking up.

"we're waking up, we're waking up
and right on time, and on right  time."
