you are beautiful. i love the way you paint the leaves in from lively shades of green to various shades of golds, oranges and red. you are magic. and i don't know why i never appreciated you as much i have now.
and why do i love this season that most dread and call "rainy season" (well in vancouver at least since it does rain often). well i find a sense of peace and freedom when the leaves change colours and fall gently to the ground. i like the way they crunch beneath my feet as i take a stroll through a park, or pace quick to work. i adore the way the wind graces my hair and mats it as i cruise on my bike. i love the feel of being swallowed whole by layers and layers of clothing, sweaters and scarfs. and now i have a wicked awesome fox toque i purchased at urban outfitters that sits lovingly over my head and keeps my ears warm. it's grand.
falls also a swell time for me to curl up on the couch by the fire (though it is electric it still gives me the cozy feeling) and write. the wind howling outside or rain pitter and pattering and splashing all along the pavement and balcony just clear my mind- or fill it. fill it like a creek to the top with metaphors, similes, imagery till they spill out ink and shape it into words on my paper. it allows me to create rhymes and rhythms like rain dropping onto my umbrella while walking around town. i just love it. i want to soak it all up and absorb it. i adore it all.
god you are a true artist. honestly, i can't help but gawk. i would never have thought up all these shades and textures. and there always seems to be a new one- if you look carefully at the leaves. hey g-o-d because you have allowed me to build a relationship with you i can now appreciate all your works and creation more than one can possibly imagine. you're a genius, an artist, a creator, a forgiver, and the best father out there. and the only god out there. without you what would i be? what would i live for?
