summer rain

i don't know why, but the rain makes me sleepy. it's like a blanket of silence on all the busy noisy streets and the tiny droplets against my window create such a sweet euphony. i guess the rain is like a lullaby for me? it just makes me feel so calm, yet content. i wish there was an empty field nearby so that i could run in it for a bit. i miss when i used to run in the morning and had the rain hit me as i ran faster.

today the rain brings forth many emotions and thoughts for me. i feel nostalgic as i think of the past memories in the rain, it traps me in my thoughts and just a deep silence as my mind keeps jumping back and forth- like droplets bouncing & falling into puddles.

falling. i was thinking of that earlier today at work and how i mentioned once to a friend that i love skyscrapers and leaning against the tilted glass because it feels as if i'm falling. i didn't realize how odd that sounded till it was spoken out loud. but i guess cause i don't see it as falling, more like floating. it's probably why i want to go skydiving so badly. just to jump out of a plan and fall out into the sky, it seems so free. but i realized i'm facing a different kind of falling now, and it's one i don't quite like, i hate the feeling of falling for someone and not knowing if they're just planted firmly on the ground and unable to see you millions of miles up in the sky. but i haven't fallen just yet, i'll admit i'm a tad terrified and part of me just wants to re-direct this plane, i guess i'm just hesitantly waiting for the cue...
